win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> Clive Barnes new album The Ghost Country is released September 2009. It\'s the sound of a musician at the top of his game as a vocalist, guitarist and songwriter. On The Ghost Country Clive sounds truly unique having forged his own voice through years of touring the US and Europe and sharing stages with the likes of Eric Bibb, Taj Mahal, Jeff Beck, Dr. John, Solomon Burke, Peter Green, Seasick Steve, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Alison Krauss, David Crosby and many more.
Clive is regarded as one of the finest guitarists around today but not only that, his lyrical and songwriting abilities are striking on this collection of songs. From the roaring banjo fueled opening track Shotgun Grin to the big sky foreboding of the title track right through to the lyrical closer Borderlines, The album is populated with stories of characters running and returning, longing and dreaming, down on their luck and finally finding some peace, character\'s so thick with realism you can feel them slip through you.
Clive\'s live performances are not to be miss, Harry Guiren of RTE noted in a live review of Clive at Vicar Street Dublin \"Clive is a guitarist who can make one acoustic sound like six, Barnes transported the entire, hushed venue across the Atlantic to where the paths taken by the Delta Blues, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen all led to his own special territory.\" </h4>";

Blue Valentine - David Irwin & Band - The Early Years of Tom Waits(Upstairs)
win = new Window('window_id', {className: "alphacube", title: "Gig Information @ www.dolanspub.com", width:600, height:300});
win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> On the 30th anniversary of the Blue Valentine tour David Irwin and his band recreated the early years of Tom Waits\' music. During his acoustic singer/songwriter period (the ten years or so up to the 1980s before he turned to more experimental music) Tom Waits wrote a catalogue of classic mournful and wryly ironic melodies for which he is probably still best known. This was a period that saw Waits writing songs such as Martha, Hope That I Don\'t Fall In Love With You, Tom Traubert\'s Blues (Waltzing Mathilda), Ol\' 55, The Heart Of Saturday Night, The Piano Has Been Drinking, and Closing Time. His nightclub-style performances are legendary, with a voice that has been described as sounding \'like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car.\'
The well-known Limerick singer and instrumentalist David Irwin has recruited a fine band of musicians to bring us his interpretations of these classic ballads, love songs and observations and going on the success of its last outing here on Valentines Night 2009 you are advised to pick up your tickets now! </h4>";

Green N Live Sessions 23 featuring JOHN Shelly And The Creatures, Saving J & C!ties(Upstairs)

In July 2009 the John Shelly boys won Best New Irish Act at the Balcony TV Awards and have just signed a publishing deal with Big Life Music (Snow Patrol, The Verve, Badly Drawn Boy).
The Belfast quartet is influenced by a wide variety of genres and are not afraid to mix things up when it comes to recording and playing live. With comparisons being made from the likes of The Band to Low and even at times The Killers, it would be nearly impossible to sum up John Shelly and the Creatures into just one sound.
Also on the bill for Green and Live Sessions 23 is tenacious Kilkenny outfit Saving J. Saving J have honed their craft and created their own unique take on a pop and rock sound that’s full of tight-assed riffs and melodic choruses. Live they give nothing less than 110% and attendance at their gigs is consistently growing as the good word spreads.
Completing the line-up for this show is fresh-faced Ennis three-piece C!ties who are willing to murder, steal and annoy their way to recognition and respect on the Irish music scene. Doors open at 8pm and admission is free.

During the 90\'s the band quickly became the greatest tribute to U2 in the world.Truly \"lookalike, sound-alike, the band played every major town in Britain & Ireland and completed successful tours of Europe, The Channel Isles & The Middle East. They also featured on numerous TV Shows & Live Radio Sessions some of which were beamed worldwide. Tours of Ireland were a stunning success with sell out shows in Coleraine, Beklfast, Sligo & Cork. Their largest Irish show was at the \"Point Depot\" in Dublin to over 7,000 people. In 1997 with \"Wayne Taylor\" on vocals, the band toured Portugal for 2 tours & played to massive crowds of up to 10,000 people per show. Back in Holland, as guests of the Zooropean fanzine the band got to play alongside U2 at the massive \"Feyenoord Stadium\" in Rotterdam. Travellin in style in their own \"Pop-Mart\" tour bus the band were accidentally led into U2\'s changing rooms!
Later that evening the band watched a private rendition of the song \"ONE\" which was being beamed live to Britain for that nights \"Top Of The Pops\". The band also pose for photos on the trabant car which was used for the \"Achtung Baby\" album cover.
The band have recently become regulars at Dublins Olympia Theatre and receive direct praise from Bono & are generally regarded as the \"official\" U2 Tribute act.
By Christmas \'99 all original band mambers had left the band to pursue careers as solo original artists so in late 2008 Luke Pepper reformed the original Achtung Baby and their first shows were sell-outs. Still finding their feet after 8 years away from the Live Gigging Scene Luke & Steve were joined on vocals vy Frank Bride with Andy Scott taking up Lamrry Mullens role and they changed their name to \"U2-2\".
Gigs in \'09 have been a great success and the momentum will continue into \'10 with anothe Limerick show on the horizon tonight! </h4>";

win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> JAMES VINCENT MC MORROW
Early in the Morning
James Vincent Mc Morrow is a songwriter from Dublin. James’ debut album Early in the Morning is out 26th February 2010.
James has racked up some amazing support slots and guest appearances over the last 18 months, with the likes of Bon Iver, Iron and Wine, the Dodos, Al Green, and Natalie Merchant all inviting him to play shows. James also supported Tracy Chapman on her European tour last year.
His writing and vocal talents attracted the attention of EMI resulting in a publishing deal in 2008. He released his debut EP Sparrow and the Wolf late that year, a collection of demo recordings he\'d made while living in London. While not the finished product by any means, it was very much the sound of someone experimenting with words and melody, figuring out a direction and vision that he\'d carry with him into the recording of his first album.
Recorded in an isolated house by the sea, Early in the Morning is a completely self-produced and self played affair. It was recorded with one mic, a room full of beat up instruments, very little engineering knowledge, and a good amount of patience.
His song, taken from the album, We Don’t Eat has just been included on One Tree Hill series, and the track Follow You Down To The Red Oak Tree will featured as part of the children’s charity Barnardos TV campaign.
\"It really feels like this album finally says exactly what I\'ve always wanted to say, sounds exactly like I\'ve always wanted to sound. I\'ve taken a lot of interesting turns in the last 2 years, had some amazing experiences, made some amazing mistakes. One day I stopped, sat down, thought about what I truly wanted to be as a musician, and this album just arrived. It\'s indelibly me, it makes me happy, and whatever happens to it beyond that, it is all good\"

Lucy Wainwright Roche - EARLY SHOW(Upstairs)
win = new Window('window_id', {className: "alphacube", title: "Gig Information @ www.dolanspub.com", width:600, height:300});
win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> Lucy Wainwright Roche’s 2008 release \"8 More\" is a continuation of her debut CD \"8 Songs\". Together these companion recordings tell the story of a second generation songwriter coming into her own. Drawing inspiration from traditional folk songs as well as rock and pop music, they feature her unique takes on “Wild Mountain Thyme” (Traditional), “Everywhere” (Christine McVie) “Hungry Heart” (Bruce Springsteen) and “Next Best Western” (Richard Shindell), along with her own insightful originals.
The daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Suzzy Roche (The Roches), Lucy has made her own musical mark, exploding fast on to the indie-folk scene. Although not yet 30, Lucy has already won two prestigious songwriting contests and has had her music featured on national television and radio. Her songs are short stories of the hopes and heartbreaks of everyday people, from the high school drummer being called to war in “Snare Drum” to the lonely window watcher in “Awhile.” Full of melody and melancholy, her songs showcase her clear, bell-like vocals.
Recorded by Stewart Lerman (Marshall Crenshaw, Dar Williams, Jules Shear), 8 Songs is simply produced with Lucy singing and providing all acoustic guitar parts. As the name would indicate, 8 More has a little more in the way of production but still preserves the raw sound that her fans have come to love.
Steuart Smith (Shawn Colvin, The Eagles) contributes guitar and bass while Tony Award-winning actress and singer Martha Plimpton sings harmonies, helping create a recording that has been a favorite amongst fans and critics alike and promises great things to come from this young but sophisticated songwriter. </h4>";

Friday 5th March at Dolans Warehouse.
The Party will go under the Streetlife Banner and will see Paul Webb and Dan Sykes join Dave Clarke in the main room while upstairs the Balance Sessions will see Paul Webb\'s weekly Dance Music Show on Spin South West host cutting-edge Dj Talent.
A regular headliner at the world\'s biggest dance festivals, host of the white noise radio show with over 1 million listeners a week around the world this will be Dave Clarke\'s first Limerick show in 7 years and Tickets are on sale now at Empire Music & Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
One of the most respected (and idiosyncratic) techno DJs and producers in the \'90s,Dave Clarke began his music career as a hip-hop DJ in the mid-\'80s, shifting to acid house and later rave near the end of the decade. He began recording for Stress (as Pig City) in the early \'90s and also appeared on R&S, XL, and his own Magnetic North Records. By the mid-\'90s, he had gradually shifted away from rave to a brand of straight-ahead techno with the ferocity of hardcore yet the sublime feelings of classic Detroit techno. A series of three singles named \"Red\" gained fame during 1995-1996 (the last went Top 40 in the U.K.), as did his ferocious DJ sets. Demagnitized, a compilation of his earlier material on Magnetic North (with additional tracks fromCristian Vogel, DJ Hell, and others), was released in 1995.Clarke\'s phenomenal album debut, Archive One, appeared in a year later on Deconstruction. Clarke also mixed two volumes of the crucial electro compilation series Electro Boogie for Studio !K7. A handful of other mixes followed, including two volumes of World Service, which were issued before and after the 2003 studio album Devil\'s Advocate. The two-disc compilation Remixes and Rarities: 1992-2005 came out in early 2007.

Tom McRae with special guest Brian Wright(Warehouse)
win = new Window('window_id', {className: "alphacube", title: "Gig Information @ www.dolanspub.com", width:600, height:300});
win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> British singer-songwriter Tom McRae has been quietly moving up the ranks of the most respected songwriters in the world today after releasing four critically acclaimed studio albums over the last 9 years.
His eponymous debut album in 2000 was nominated for The Mercury Prize, a Q Magazine Award, and a Brit, and the subsequent two years of touring cemented his reputation as one the most entertaining and powerful artists touring today.
Just Like Blood, his second album was released to wide acclaim, especially in America, where every track was licensed for tv and film use, his style of music fitting perfectly the more darker output of LA’s film studios.
In 2004 McRae moved to LA, and while making his third album, All Maps Welcome, began playing regularly at The Hotel Café venue in Hollywood. The connection McRae made with fellow musicians led to the Hotel Café Tour, a travelling revue show featuring dozens of artists, which annually tours the USA coast to coast, as well as occasional forays into Europe. The tour is something of a phenomenon in the states, providing a forum for new talent that may otherwise be unable to reach a live audience on such a scale.
After signing to V2 in 2006, the following year McRae released King Of Cards, a more upbeat offering than previous albums. The demise of the label during the promotion phase didn’t diminish Tom’s enthusiasm for the fight, and he toured the album twice that year, proving a huge hit at festivals across Europe, recruiting more fans everywhere he went,
Now, after a year away from touring, during which Tom moved back to London from Brooklyn, he is about to release his fifth studio album.
The Alphabet of Hurricanes, an album in two parts, is scheduled for release in September 2009, with a second volume to follow in early 2010. It is McRae’s most ambitious album to date, recorded over three years in studios, hotel rooms, and backstage both in the US and UK. Having set up his own studio, Gunpoint, in east London, McRae has taken charge of the production once again, with his haunting melodies and poetic lyrics given a new sonic palette in an eclectic selection of powerful songs.
Tom will tour the new album with a full band, and - as his fans can attest - for an artist working in a genre often considered by the music press to be “sensitive and self-indulgent” he can take the roof off a venue with his passionate performances, as well as forging a strong humorous bond with his audience.
The Alphabet of Hurricanes Tour and album look set to further add to the cult that is rapidly springing up around this talented and dedicated artist.

Downtown Music Gallery, New York - reviewing ‘Iive in Dublin (Auand 9009)
“It was intense, exhilarating and a credit to all concerned, with Black in
particular little short of astonishing in his range of invention. If jazz is
the sound of surprises, this was full of them”.
Irish Times
“Julian Arguelles, Ronan Guilfoyle and Jim Black produced a concert of
enthralling and frequently breathtaking music. Black in particular was
mesmerising, throwing spanner after spanner into the works from a seemingly limitless toolkit of ideas.”

Julian Arguelles – Saxophones
Ronan Guilfoyle – Acoustic Bass Guitar
Jim Black – Drums
An international trio, featuring three of the leading contemporary jazz
musicians of their respective countries - British saxophonist Julian
Arguelles, the Irish bassist Ronan Guilfoyle, and the American drummer Jim
Black – will undertake a tour of the UK and Ireland in March 2010.
The saxophone trio has a long and important history in jazz and some of the
most highly regarded live recordings in jazz have featured this format.
Arguelles/Guilfoyle/Black continue this tradition while at the same time
reflecting the vibrancy of contemporary jazz. An international trio, featuring
three of the leading contemporary jazz musicians of their generation and
respective countries - British saxophonist Julian Arguelles, the Irish
bassist Ronan Guilfoyle, and the American drummer Jim Black – their new
recording ‘Live in Dublin’ captures the excitement and ‘in the moment’ feel
of live saxophone trio playing, and gives a taste of what is to come in
their concert performances.
Playing a programme mixing original compositions and standards, the trio’s music features a free-wheeling spontaneity and powerful rhythmic drive, with each member of the trio showing an almost telepathic response to the playing of the others - the music unfolds seamlessly with a great sense of swing and much rhythmic intrigue.

win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> Meath singer/songwriter Eugene Donegan released his eagerly anticipated debut album \"Little Apples\" in 2009.
With his debut album \"Little Apples\", Eugene Donegan is intent on carrying the listener with him on an ambitious trip which takes in the formation of the Roman empire, the mundane everyday life of his hometown of Navan, and even to heaven.
Wherever the destination, love is seldom far from Eugene\'s mind, and it\'s the kind that seldom works out. Dissecting failed relationships and lamenting lost love over the course of an album is a bleak prospect, but Eugene\'s stunning musical settings somehow manages to uplift the listener, or at least break their fall.
In the fragile beauty of \"Loved You Too Much\" and \"Martha\'s Field\", Eugene equals any of Ryan Adams\' haunting ballads of loss, while in the country-tinged \"Tonight Is The Night\" he echoes the honest, heart-warming delivery of his hero Kris Kristofferson. He even doffs his cap to compatriot Paul Brady in the opening bars of the ambitious \"The Gods Are With Us\".
However under the guidance of producer and collaborator Declan O\'Rourke (Since Kyabram, Big Bad Beautiful World), \"Little Apples\" charm lies in Eugene\'s ability to confidently forge a style which is uniquely his own. Eugene Donegan\'s debut marks a new voice in the pantheon of Irish storytellers, it is now only a matter of time before it is heard.

win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> LIMERICK power-popsters Supermodel Twins will ensure that the final Green and Live Session ends on a high note as it celebrates the release of their new single ‘Bruises’ at Upstairs in Dolan’s on Thursday March 25.
Supermodel Twins have an unerring, breezy power-pop sensibility that suggests they are bronzed Californian surfer dudes rather than pasty-faced dwellers of the grey and dreary backstreets of Frank McCourt’s ‘Angela’s Ashes’. Influenced by the likes of Weezer, Nada Surf and Jimmy Eat World, Supermodel Twins’ sound brims with moments of wry genius that owes more to the genuine pop masterworks of The Beach Boys and Burt Bacharach than its modern day imitators.
These local boys are purveyors of perfect three-minute pop songs that combine intelligent lyrics about love, lust and loneliness with infectious melodies, sinful harmonies and dramatic guitar-crescendos delivered in a Beatles-style swagger. The five-piece will preview tracks from their forthcoming debut album produced by Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan at Green and Live Sessions 24.
Also on the line-up for the last ever Sessions gig is Green and Live favourites Laminate Reno and The Vagabonds. Doors open at 8pm and admission is free.
Green and Live is broadcast on Limerick Live 95FM every Friday between 10pm and midnight with presenter Alan Jacques.

win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> Linley has been on the scene for many years now having doubled up his jazz career with one in the Rock and Pop arena. Well known for his work with Paul Brady, Linley has also toured or recorded with Andrew Strong, the Commitments, Foy Vance, Eleanor McEvoy and Duke Special among others, but has somewhat left that side of his career behind to concentrate on jazz.
Having toured and recorded with Jacqui Dankworth in the ‘Noughties’ Linley has a successful weekly jazz show on BBC Radio Ulster with recent guests including Wynton Marsalis, Jan Garbareck, John Abercrombie, Walter Becker and Billy Cobham. In 2001 he released his debut album ‘Up to Now’ and toured extensively with a line up that included Dublin Saxophone phenomenon Derek O’Connor. Renowned as a bebop and hard bop player, Linley shows a love for all styles modern and has a lyrical approach to the Flugel Horn which has played a more substantial role in his work of recent years.
In 2009 Linley went ‘back to school’ and studied at DIT in Dublin under Mike Neilsen where he achieved a 1st in Master of Jazz performance and won the Student Academic Excellence Award along with it. He has recently penned a Kind of Blue Theatre Show and is touring with it in Ireland in April 2010 and embarks on a PhD in Jazz in September this year.
Derek \'Doc\' O\'Connor has played saxophone from the age of nine and turned
professional at age seventeen.His style is very much high intensity in the Bob Berg,
Michael Brecker mold and his live playing is always an exciting experience.
Derek toured with the european jazz youth orchestra in 2001 representing Ireland and
divides his time between recording sessions,touring and live gigs.
Derek has performed with many top artists including Paul Brady.Van Morrison,Chaka Khan
and Jeffrey Osborne to name but a few.He is currently the house saxophonist on \'Tubridy Tonight\'
which airs every saturday night and also \'Your a Star\' on Sundays during the autumn.
Derek has recently received rave reviews for his playing on Niall O\'Niell\'s debut album
\'As If\' with the band Reverse Trust featuring Irelands top session musicians.

Scouting For Girls - OVER 18s only(Warehouse)

Monday 19 CORK, Savoy Theatre
Tuesday 20 LIMERICK, Dolan’s Warehouse
Wednesday 21 BELFAST, Mandela Hall
Friday 23 DUBLIN, Olympia Theatre
Saturday 24 CASTLEBAR, TF Royal Theatre
Tickets for Scouting For Girls at the Dolans are €26 + booking fee and are available from www.dolanspub.com, 061 314483 and from ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
In 2008, Scouting For Girls became the biggest selling new band of the year in the UK. Having toiled for ten years unsigned, the three boys next door sold over 900,000 records of their eponymous number 1 debut album, and were nominated for three Brit Awards (British Breakthrough Act, British Single (Heartbeat), and British Live Act, to become the UK’s most successful new pop band.
Fronted by the exuberant showman, Roy Stride, Scouting For Girls quickly became renowned for their contagious piano-led pop songs (She’s So Lovely, Heartbeat, It’s Not About You, Elvis Ain’t Dead), that connected with a huge audience and reaped multiple sold-out tours. Those live shows grew as Scouting For Girls mania gripped, buoyed on by the huge radio support, the venues were upsized across the country and sold-out just as quickly. By the end of 2008, they had performed to hundreds of thousands of fans, and outsold bands twice their size in the live arena.
The initial recordings of their forthcoming second album, ‘Everybody Wants To Be On TV’, were ruthlessly scrapped by the band after the Brit Awards 2008, when they had decided it needed re-writing and re-shaping. Whole songs were dropped in Roy Stride’s mission for a collection of perfect pop songs. The resulting album, produced by Andy Green at Helioscentric Studios in East Sussex, is unshakeably bold, confident, and a genuine step up in sound that loses none of the band’s early charm, but builds and expands upon it as infectiously as only they know how to be.
Scouting for Girls release their new single This Aint A Love Song on 26th March with their album, Everybody Wants to Be On TV following on April 9th.
Tickets for their Irish tour are on sale this Friday, 5th February at 9am.
