win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> With Special Guests OLYMPIC LIFTS
With a style that combines the manipulative songwriting smarts of Daft Punk with the exuberant power-pop of early Weezer, Belfast-based duo Oppenheimer are set to restore the three-minute pop song to its rightful throne.
Shaun Robinson and Rocky O’Reilly first met at an Icelandic electronica show and soon realised they shared a love of kraut-rock, synthesizers and soundscapes. Recording lush, multi-layered music was initially their escape from a rainy Irish winter. Writing summer-pop songs took their minds to other places, the neon sparkle of Times Square, the blue skies of California... they suddenly felt a lot brighter about their hometown. Oppenheimer was formed and they began to record. The band’s Northern Irish roots were reinforced by the endorsement of renowned DJ David Holmes, who loaned the band equipment and by Ash’s Tim Wheeler who has also collaborated with the band, appearing as guest vocalist on early track “Orchid”. Oppenheimer’s debut self titled album was released in 2006 by the acclaimed US indie label Bar-None. The band have recently shared stages with names like Tilly and The Wall, Architecture In Helsinki, Regina Spektor, Hot Chip and supported They Might Be Giants on a giant 50 date stateside tour. To add to this success they have also had songs featured on Ugly Betty and hip new U.S comedy Gossip Girl.
New album “Take The Whole Mid-Range And Boost It” was recorded in the band’s own Belfast studio and continues their disarming fascination with synthesizer fuzz and boisterous, bright pop. The album combines the admitted influences of Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, and My Bloody Valentine with the spirited harmonies and concise compositions of Brian Wilson. With twelve new songs including a guest appearance from Matt Caughtran from thrash punk god-heads The Bronx, the new record embraces some pretty esoteric themes: politics, fireworks in New Jersey and Cate Blanchett impersonators to name but a few. Following from their appearances at SXSW, Oppenheimer are pleased to announce a UK tour which stops off here tonight </h4>";

Whether interpreting songs by his favourite writers, such as Randy Newman, Tom Waits, John Hiatt and Guy Clark, or performing his own classy compositions, Freddie’s live performances are nothing short of legendary. Freddie has been part of the fabric of the live music scene in Ireland since the 1970’s and his albums continue to sell well, amongst his loyal and new-found fan base.
Freddie\'s new album, Stormy Lullaby marks the first album to be released by the Cork musician for 3 years. It is a stunning collection of moody tracks in which Freddie White’s musicianship and voice shine through. He has once again teamed up with his old cohort DanDan Fitzgerald to produce this gem. The album has an acoustic feel thanks to the input of a small, tight group of musicians from his native Cork.
\'Stormy Lullaby\' maintains a lifelong undertaking by this remarkable singer

‘This is a superb return to form... those trademark sharp-toothed guitar licks.. .smoky, languid voice... there’s still nobody to match White at his best.’ Siobhain Long. Irish Times, January 2008

win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> Though the past year has seen Frightened Rabbit finally step into public view, with more extensive touring and some recordings now publicly available, the past few years have largely been about the band quietly, commitedly honing their sound, and cultivating their art. Now a four-piece comprising Scott, Billy ,Grant and Andy(recently recruited, Andy Monaghan, enables the band to play many songs from the new album they would previously have struggled to fill out instrumentally. Andy plays bass guitar, keyboard and electric guitar)
The origins of the band are rooted in 2003, when Scott began playing solo shows under the name Frightened Rabbit, mostly in support of fellow art-schoolers Shitdisco. Recordings were made on a tascam 4-track recorder, with Scott playing all the instruments (some more proficiently than others). Though looser, sparser, and certainly more lo-fi in terms of production values, their early demo’s still attest to a burgeoning talent with a defined personality, and a now familiar penchant for being able to nail a near perfect pop song.
In 2004 Scott’s brother Grant moved to Glasgow, contributing drums to certain recorded tracks, and playing live. Frightened Rabbit became louder and better. They burnt 50 copies of their subsequent demo, and sent some out to labels, resulting in three tracks being hosted on the FatCat MP3/demo website, and marking the beginning of a wonderful relationship. In 2006, Billy joined the band playing primarily second guitar, making Frightened Rabbit in the band’s own words, a wee bit better and louder still. That February they went into The Diving Bell Lounge studio with Glasgow based producer Marcus Mackay to record some songs over the course of a week. The intention was to record a better quality demo, but the resultant recordings ended up as the bands debut LP ‘Sing The Greys’, of which 1000 copies were pressed and released that May on home grown label Hits The Fan.
An incredibly accomplished live outfit (seemingly without any effort whatsoever), further live dates followed into 2007, including a brief but succesful US jaunt, culminating in a sold-out show at The Mercury Lounge in NYC, before the album was even available in the US. After an intense spate of writing, rehearsing, recording, and remixing, and of course playing more live shows, ‘Sings The Greys’ was remastered by Alan Douches, and re-released in significantly revamped form by FatCat Autumn 2007, along with debut single ‘Be Less Rude’. Rounding off the year with the incredible \'It\'s Christmas So We\'ll Stop\' single, 2008 promises to be another busy one for Frightened Rabbit.
Following less than six months in tow of the aforementioned LP, ‘Head Rolls Off’ precedes the bands forthcoming album, ‘Midnight Organ Fight’, a progression in terms of songwriting, sonic depth, and as a fully realised entity. Recorded by Peter Katis (Mercury Rev, Interpol) over the space of two weeks, and mixed over the ensuing fortnight, ‘Midnight Organ Fight’ was conceived and realised in a much shorter time span than its predecessor, with the intention of creating a more coherent, ‘pop’ sounding album. Yet although musically more immediate, vitally, the band have not forsaken the personality or passion of any of their earlier recordings.
Check them out on their debut Limerick gig here tonight </h4>";

win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> To celebrate the re-release of The Lemonhead\'s magnificent It\'s A Shame About Ray, Evan Dando comes to the Warehouse tonight as part of a short Irish tour.
Born on March 4, 1967, and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Dando had gravitated towards such influential ’80s punk outfits as Hüsker Dü and the Replacements, which led to the formation of the Lemonheads by the mid-’80s. The group’s original lineup consisted of Dando, Ben Deily (vocals, guitar, drums), and Jesse Peretz (bass), and was featured on the 1986 EP Laughing All the Way to the Cleaners, which the band put out on their own. The Lemonheads signed on with the Taang! label, and issued such further releases as 1987’s Hate Your Friends, 1988’s Creator, and 1989’s Lick. A rift between band members grew with each successive release, leading to Dando eventually being the only original member left in attendance by the dawn of the ’90s. Subsequently, Dando retained the Lemonheads name and signed on with Atlantic Records. The Lemonheads’ major-label debut, Lovey, showed that the once straight-ahead punk band had now grown into more of a alt-pop outfit, as Dando also tackled such previously unexplored sounds as jangle pop and country-rock.
With Nirvana having cleared the way for other alt-rock bands by 1992, Dando and the Lemonheads couldn’t have picked a better time to issue what is considered by many to be their best album, “It’s a Shame About Ray”. It wasn’t until a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson” was added on a second printing of the album that the Lemonheads finally broke through commercially, resulting in It’s a Shame About Ray eventually reaching gold certification.

Fighting With Wire(Warehouse)

win.getContent().innerHTML = "<h4> Fighting With Wire emerged from the ever creative Northern Ireland music scene in 2003, the brainchild of guitarist Cahir O’Doherty (Jetplane Landing / Clearshot) and drummer Craig McKean (Clearshot).
An idealistic bunch, they’ve since done what rock bands are meant to do: they wrote a bunch of songs, and took to the road. The last three years has seen them play shows with the likes of Reuben, Biffy Clyro, Million Dead, Seafood, YCNI:M and Future Of The Left, racking up hundreds of miles and honing their live show into a ferocious explosion in the process.
After putting out a number of limited edition DIY singles, they took a breather at the end of 2006 and finally started work on their long-awaited debut album. Recorded in Northern Ireland and finally completed in mid-2007, Man Vs Monster is a dynamic beast of a record – raging out of your speakers one moment yet gentle and intricate the next, and all without losing focus of what’s important: the song. What’s next for Fighting With Wire? More touring and more songs, we would expect.
\"Do what you believe in, believe in what you do and don’t give a damn about anything or anybody else. That seems to be the philosophy of Fighting With Wire.\"

See www.heinekengreenspheres.ie for tickets
Attention people of Earth! We bring you this special announcement to give you the very latest information on the Green Spheres phenomenon. The next Green Spheres is scheduled here tonight with English indie rock outfit Dirty Pretty Things.
Dirty Pretty Things are about music, performance, excitement and camaraderie and nothing else. This, the 10th Green Spheres, will be an energetic , rousing and freewheeling performance featuring frontman Carl Barat telling stories over the bands rolling backbeat.
The band were born out of the ashes of the Libertines who had exploded on to the music scene in 2002. The following years had been frantic and after winding up the band in Paris December 2004, Carl Barat took a few former Libertines with him for the new Dirty Pretty Things project.
The band share similarities to the band left behind but in a leaner way, bringing to mind a mix of the Kinks and the Jam. Dirty Pretty Things blooded themselves with shows away from Libertines mania in Brazil and Italy as a debut performance in the US at the South by Southwest festival.
Debut album \"Waterloo to Anywhere\" went all the way to number three in the UK Album charts with standout racks \"Bang Bang You\'re Dead\" and \"Deadwood.\"
This Green Spheres date will be fans\' first chance to hear material off the eagerly awaited second album \"This is Where the Truth Begins.\" We hope to see you there where you may also notice some new additions to Green Spheres. </h4>";

As the band\'s career was finally beginning to take off and with plans underway for a US & European promotional tour REMMA were dealt a devastating blow when lead singer Shane was struck down with a rare virus which destroyed both his kidneys and which was to see him on dialysis and a transplant waiting list for the following 3 years. This was a very low point for the band but still they managed to keep on writing and recording new material and playing the occasional gig but any serious touring or gigging commitments had to be placed on hold. In late 2007 Shane finally received a telephone call with the amazing news which was to surpass even that of the band\'s initial record deal \"a kidney had been donated and the team at Beaumont Hospital were ready to transplant.\" Shane has now thankfully undergone a successful transplant and is back to full health so its full steam ahead in 2008 for REMMA. Limerick favourite Juliet Turner has been recording a new album with producer Keith Lawless in a warehouse in Dublin over the last few months. Described by the Irish Times as ‘one of the most intriguing of Irish female song writers, arriving several years ago with a guitar and a batch of brittle, poignant songs; her broad accent and even broader outlook; her bitter-sweet tastes all marking her as one to watch’, Turner is still an artist marbled with tiny streaks of maverick.
The new batch of songs are thoughtful and less acerbic than some of her previous writing and the narrative lines running through the album are sympathetic and full of warmth. On stage with long time guitarist Brian Grace, Juliet Turner has a wry charm, a beautiful voice and fine lyrics, making her a compelling live performer. Listen for “Elder of the Tribe” and “Luisa” in particular. The release of new material seems to fall in a four year cycle and this new album, due for release in June 2008, is eagerly anticipated. </h4>";
